The Alton House
Wardrobes, mudroom lockers, and a white oak vanity in a new addition.
Caledon Build put a new addition on this house outside Alton, and three rooms inside it needed cabinetry — a primary bedroom, a mudroom off the back door, and an ensuite. The homeowners wanted the rooms to read as finished, not furnished, so everything is built in. The wardrobes are painted Sherwin Williams Antler Velvet over birch interiors, with vent kicks routed into the base for airflow and LED tucked into the crown so the light washes up the ceiling. The mudroom lockers are Benjamin Moore Nantucket Grey, built around a tiled dog shower, with a live-edge slab the client supplied for the bench and inner drawers for the dog food. In the ensuite, the white oak vanity was stained to match the bedroom furniture, and the same finish carries across the room into a wall niche.
Caledon Build
Caledon Build is a construction and project management company working on new residential builds and major renovations across the GTA. They ran the Alton addition end to end — site conditions, electrical, tile, drywall, and scheduling — and coordinated every trade through it. The dog shower in the mudroom is theirs: they framed and tiled it, and we built the lockers around the opening. Working alongside a builder who keeps a tight schedule and a clean site makes our part of the job straightforward.
Fox Custom Woodworks
Fox Custom Woodworks is a family shop in Erin. Every cabinet in this addition was built by hand in our shop and installed on site. Most of the work that took the longest doesn't show: the vent kicks routed into the wardrobe base so air moves behind them, the false panel behind the vanity drawers that gives the towel bars something solid to mount to, the drawer bank sized around a bag of dog food. Three rooms, one finish schedule, and details worked out with the builder as the addition went up.
