A Full Bedroom Suite in Erin, Ontario
This project covered the entire primary bedroom and second-floor landing — two full wardrobes, a window bench, a headboard and nightstands, and a built-in desk and bench seat at the top of the stairs. The homeowners wanted every piece to feel like it had always been there. Michaela's Homes & Interiors led the design; Fox Custom Woodworks built everything from the shop in Erin. Warm white oak, painted Shiitake, and white ash — each material doing its own job, all three reading as one room. Three materials. One suite.

Michaela's Homes & Interiors brought a clear vision to this project from the start — two materials, two wardrobes, one cohesive room. The painted Shiitake pieces were designed to feel quiet and restrained alongside the warmth of the white oak. Every detail, from the linen fabric panel inserts to the bench countertop, was considered in relation to the existing pine floors and wood window trim throughout the home.
Fox Custom Woodworks
Fox built every piece in the shop — wardrobes, bench, headboard, nightstands, and the landing built-ins. The handles on every unit were made in-house. The painted Shiitake wardrobe includes a full maple interior with drawers, adjustable shelving, and a pull-out dog bed at the base. The white oak wardrobe opens to adjustable shelving, a hanging rod, painted drawers, and full-length mirrors on the inside of the doors, with LED lighting throughout.
